Param Grewal
Upon graduating from Government College of Art, Chandigarh, Param enrolled at Brooklyn Campus NY and did his Applied Cinematic Course and in 1983 began his career as a Film Maker & Industrial Photographer in Delhi, India.
Right from the inception he headed 'Images' a video production company where he handled / produced Corporate Films, TV Commercials and Technical Training Films for illustrious brand names like ITC Hotels, Hindustan Motors, Escorts Ltd, NikyTasha, DCM Group, Inalsa, Modi Group, Apollo Tyres, Good Year Tyres, Lintas, HTA (now JWT), Clarion, Everest, Ulka and few names to add, but in 1985 he decide to add to his perfection and establish himself as a country’s youngest full time professional Industrial / Corporate Photographer and added the Major PSUs to his clientele list.
Param has created dramatic and informative photographs for many industrial clients such as HPL, NTPC, MMTC, IOL, BHEL, NBCC, RITES, INDIAN AIRLINES, PGCL, SIEMENS LTD., METSO, KINGSMEN Singapore, Ministry of Roadways & Surface, Oriental Insurance, MODI GROUP and DCM Group. His talent of making lifeless industrial projects come alive made sure that there is not a single PSU client of his that left unsatisfied. Deemed as country's best can be seen from the fact that his Rare Golden temple (famous pilgrimage place for Sikhs in India) shot taken on Parkash Divas 2003 during Rehras Sahib is replicated by most photographers but his shot remains the BEST SO FAR !!!
In 1988 he discovered his photojournalistic eye and keen insight when he was assigned by PTI & Reuters to cover Punjab Terrorism, where he did some astounding and challenging photo shoots. His work featured regularly in some of the world’s leading publication including AFP, AP, PTI, UNI, The Hindustan Times, NEWYORK TIMES, THE WEEK (US), THE GUARDIAN, THE HINDU (FRONTLINE), THE TIMES OF INDIA (ILLUSTRATED WEEKLY), THE TRIBUNE and THE INDIAN EXPRESS till 1992.
Due to his rare ability to depict the unique spirit of each person and event he captures on film during his college days got him the prestigious shoots of the Indian and International famous personalities and statesmen including Mr. Sanjay Gandhi, Mr. Kenneth Kaunda (President Zambia), Mr. P Shiv Shanker (Minister India), S. Darbara Singh (Chief Minister Punjab), Mr. JaisukhLal Hathi (Governor Punjab), Dr. MS Randhawa ICS, Dr. RC Paul (VC Punjab University), Dr. Bharat Ram, S. In 2004 He took a break to be with his family and rejuvenated himself before he restarted his photographic journey under the name of “fnb shoots” along with his artistic temperament in 2005 and since then going strong with same enthusiasm.
After achieving a milestone in Industrial Photography he is now working with a dedicated team and extending his reach to Commercial Photo Shoots by specializing in Food and Product. One area of photography that Param especially enjoys, is food photography. Compiling a large percentage of his business , His subtle lighting and often still-life composition approach to food offers style to complex dishes. Param even manages to makes a plate of chips look stylish!
Param Grewal shoots for many Advertising Agencies, Public Relations Companies, Magazines and Corporate clients in India and abraod, many clients have found that Param can deliver exceptional results using either high resolution digital technology or good old film.
