Kshipra Shukla is currently the Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Institute of Design & Research since 2017. It is the only Design Institution run by the Uttar Pradesh Government, under the aegis of the MSME Department.

She has a double Master’s and was a topper in Journalism & Mass Communication, as well as Medieval & Modern Indian History. She has also done a course from NIFT Delhi.

Previously, she was associated with the Export Industry for almost 15 years, working closely with renowned international brands like Anthropologie, Nordstrom, Macy's, and All Saints Retail, among others. Apart from Design Education, she has worked extensively and closely with the grassroots-level artisans/weavers of UP. She has trained almost 30,000 artisans/weavers covering 45 districts of UP. She has worked closely while the ODOP scheme and played an important role in implementing the scheme at the grassroots level. Being the major training partner of ODOP, she worked extensively in improvising design, creating a direct market linkage for the artisanal community to give them a global entity.

In her current role, she has given a new dimension to UPIDR. The UPIDR was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. Due to her focused efforts, UPIDR has started the second session in the new sprawling campus of 4 acres at Shaheed Path, with all the seats full. At UPIDR, her efforts are geared to skill, re-skill, and upskill to make Local Products Global, to contribute towards Self Reliant India.
