COURSE OVERVIEW
The 1-Year Diploma in Photography at IIP Academy, Kausani is a comprehensive residential program designed to offer foundational skills in photography, with the option for students to extend their studies for a second year to deepen their expertise. The first year focuses on essential techniques and creative exploration, leading to a Diploma in Photography. Those who opt for the second year will earn an Additional Certificate in Photography, complete with a six-month industry internship. This program immerses students in practical learning, fosters creativity, and prepares them to become industry-ready professionals.
Year 1: Diploma in Photography
Semester 1
- Introduction to Photography: History, evolution, and cultural impact of photography.
- Visual Studies and Art Appreciation: Basics of visual storytelling and art analysis
- Black-and-White Photography: Techniques and aesthetics of monochromatic photography.
- Photography Techniques I: Composition, exposure, lighting, and focus.
- Basic Image Editing: Introduction to photo-editing software, including Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
- Exploratory Workshops: Fieldwork and hands-on sessions.
Semester 2
- Advanced Camera Techniques: Understanding manual controls, including aperture and shutter speed.
- Introduction to Studio Photography: Lighting setups, portraits, and product photography.
- Photography as Art and Documentation: Exploring photography’s role in art and journalism.
- Image Printing and Presentation: Preparing images for print and exhibition.
- Studio Photography II: Advanced studio techniques with a focus on fashion, product, and commercial photography.
- Contemporary Art Forms: Study of modern and contemporary photography styles.
- Business of Photography: Branding, marketing, and the commercial side of photography.
- Advanced Image Editing and Post-Production: Retouching, color grading, and publishing.
- Campaign Project : Practical project creating a professional photo campaign.
- Portfolio Making - First Placement from IIP Academy (Optional)
At the end of Year 1, students will receive a Diploma in Photography.

Semester 3
- Specialisation : Studio Photography : Advanced studio techniques with a focus on fashion, product, and commercial photography.
- Contemporary Art Forms: Study of modern and contemporary photography styles.
- Portfolio making: Branding, marketing, and the commercial side of photography.
- Campaign Project II: Practical project creating a professional photo campaign.
Semester 4
- Internship Program (6 Months): Real-world exposure in commercial, editorial, or documentary photography.
- Incubation Program: Mentorship to develop personal projects and launch into the industry.
- Specialization Project: Choose a genre (fashion, documentary, wildlife) for an in-depth project.
- Final Portfolio Development: Comprehensive portfolio creation and industry presentation.
- Campaign Project III & Viva Voce: Final presentation to industry experts.
At the end of Year 2, students who opt for the expansion will receive a Industry Experience Certificate and Pro Diploma in Photography.
Upon completion of the 1-Year Diploma (or optional two-year program), students will:

- Annual Fee (Includes Tuition Fee, Studio Charges, Exhibition Curation, Study Tour, 24-hour Library Access): ₹ 3,80,000 (for 1 years).
Total Fee for 2 semesters: ₹ 3,80,000 - Residency Cost (Includes Dormitory/Sharing Stay, Sports Facility, Laundry Services, and Food): ₹ 2,64,000 per year
- Personality Grooming (Covers Languages, Camps and Events, Regular and Online Masterclasses): ₹ 20,000 per year

- Monday to Friday: A structured curriculum that includes practical sessions, field visits, library time, group discussions, and one-on-one mentoring with faculty.
- Timings
- Morning: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
- Afternoon: 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM
- Saturday: Masterclasses covering topics such as ethics, languages, culture, and philosophy, with free time for self-study.
- Sunday: Personal time for rest and reflection.
